eScheduling Features
Establishing a High-Speed Internet Connection to your DMS

eScheduling can automatically write appointments into your DMS (ADP or R&R system), saving your staff 80% of the typing that's typically necessary to create a repair order. It is possible for the eScheduling system to connect to your DMS via modem, or via high-speed Internet. The Internet option is far superior, as it will write appointments immediately, and will be faster and cheaper than a modem connection. If your dealership has high-speed internet access (DSL or T1), and if the computer running your DMS (ADP or R&R system) is on your dealership's local network, then it is should be possible to establish a high-speed Internet connection.

  • Option 1: VPN Connection

If your dealership network as a VPN concentrator, that supports Cisco or Nortel clients, then please provide that information directly to your implementation specialist.

  • Option 2: Direct Telnet Connection

If your dealership network does not have a VPN concentrator, it is still generally possible to create a secure "Direct Telnet" connection by taking the following steps:

    • Configure your router to accept telnet packets on whatever port you choose (23 is typical), and to pass them to and from your DMS computer
    • For security, restrict the router to accept telnet packets from the following IP addresses only:
      • 67.98.110.129 to 67.98.110.255
      • 65.223.100.218
      • 204.176.148.39
    • Please provide the telnet IP address and port number necessary to connect to your DMS system directly to your implementation specialist.
